Two Chinese nationals were arrested Monday morning in Manila for drunk driving and resisting authorities.
The suspects, identified by authorities, as Cai Fang Bin and Man-Man Chen, both Chinese nationals, were nabbed for speeding through a checkpoint along C.M. Recto Avenue corner Sanchez street in Binondo at 2:20 am.
According to a report sent to the Office of the Mayor, Manila Police District (MPD) Station 11 commander Police Lt. Col. Noel Alino said Bin was driving while intoxicated while Chen allegedly "disrespected" and resisted police officers.
"They were driving too fast and their vehicle's registration was already expired. The driver also did not present his driver's licence and was under the influence of alcohol," said Alino.
"The other one rescued his companion and bullied our policemen. We arrested them so that they would know that it's not allowed to deviate from the rules and laws in Manila," he added.
Bin will face charges for violation of Section 56 (D, E, and F) of the Republic Act 4136 while Chen will be charged with Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code for resistance and disobedience to a person in authority. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
