Two, including Japanese, hurt in Aklan vehicular accident

Two people, including a Japanese national, were injured following a vehicular accident in Aklan on Friday night.

The West Visayas regional police said those who were involved in the vehicular accident were the  Japanese and a certain Allan Arancillo, 32.

Police said the Japanese, who had an international driving license, was driving a Honda ASF100 motorcycle while Arancillo was on a Skygo motorcycle when the incident happened at the vicinity of Brgy. Mabilo, Kalibo, Aklan around 6:35 pm.

Police Corporal Paul Christian Alejandro of the Kalibo Municipal Police Station said during the investigation the Japanese admitted that he was at fault.

Alejandro said based on the statement of the two drivers, the front portion of the motorcycle of Arancillo hit the back portion of the Japanese's  motorcycle when he turned to his left without signalling.

He said the two drivers were brought to Dr. Rafael S Tumbokon Memorial Hospital, Kalibo Aklan after sustaining minor injuries.

Alejandro said the two were able to settle the incident on Saturday after the Japanese paid for the damage of the motorcycle,  medical expenses and the salary of Arancillo.

He said Yukihiro paid P3,000 for the repair of Arancillo’s motorcycle, another P3,000 pesos for his six days salary and P250 pesos for x-ray. Robina Asido/DMS
