Two injured as civilian plane crash lands in Nueva Ecija

Two people were injured after a civilian plane crashed in the province of Nueva Ecija on Monday.
Major Emmanuelle Adriano, public affairs chief of the Army’s Mechanized Infantry Division, said a Cessna 172 with tail number RPC 2847 owned by Fly Fast School of Lingayen crash landed in the vicinity of Brgy. Pula, Cabanatuan City around 8 am.
“According to the statement of Lt. Col. Ronel Manalo, commanding officer of Army Aviation Battalion (AABn), they received a distress call from the pilots of the civilian aircraft requesting for an emergency landing at Fort Magsaysay Airstrip. However, the aircraft was not able to reach Fort Magsaysay,” he said.
“The AABn has immediately dispatched a Cessna P206A (PA911) and ground troops to the crash site for search and rescue operations. The dispatched Cessna 206 was piloted by CPT Jomarie Atanoso with co-pilot by Capt Connie Amor Bartolome,” he added.
Adriano said the victims identified as Maria Thalia Zeth Ipim Ruiz, a student pilot and her instructor pilot Boni Sorgon Domopoy sustained slight injuries.
He said the two are safe after they were brought to Paulino Garcia Hospital in Talavera. Robina Asido/DMS
