Two militia detachments harassed in seperate attacks by NPAs in Capiz: military

Two Civilian Active Auxiliary detachments (CAA) were harassed in separate attacks by alleged New People's Army (NPA) fighters in Capiz Tuesday morning.
In an initial military report, at 1 am around 15 members of the Igabon Platoon positioned themselves south of the CAA detachment at Barangay Abangay in Tapaz and initiated a firefight.
The rebels withdrew towards Sitio Tubi after 20 minutes of fighting
In a separate attack which happened at 1:46 am in Barangay Catipunan, a CAA detachment had a gunfight with an undetermined number of rebels.
The attack lasted for three minutes as the rebels withdrew towards Sitio Sambo-ong in Barangay Catipunan going to Sitio Bolod, Barangay Roosevelt in Tapaz. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
