Two suspects killed as police serve arrest warrant in Lanao del Sur

Two armed suspects were killed while eight police officers were wounded as they tried to serve warrants of arrest in Lanao Del Sur Wednesday evening.

Based on a police report, the incident transpired around 11:30 pm at Barangay Tabaran, Madamba in Lanao del Sur after police personnel clashed with armed suspects.

Suspects resisted arrest which resulted to the death of certain Zanodin Moro and Macalatas Ameril, police said.

The wounded cops were brought to hospital but one Lanao del Sur provincial police operative was missing.

Authorities recovered high-powered firearms and a grenade launcher.

The operating troops' patrol car was burned down after being hit by an M-203 projectile and being recovered from the encounter site. Ella Dionisio/DMS
