”Ulysses” made ”huge damage”, said Lorenzana

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said Thursday Typhoon ''Ulysses'', now over the West Philippine Sea after creating havoc in Metro Manila and Central Luzon, made a "huge damage".
"Huge damage. Totally flooded villages, low lying areas flooded (streets), blown off structures," Lorenzana said.
Lorenzana said he could not compare the damage from ''Ulysses'' with that of ''Ondoy'', which literally sunk Metro Manila in 2009 due to steady rains.
"I wasn’t here during Ondoy but I’ll ask OCD which keeps records," he added.
Lorenzana said he briefed President Rodrigo Duterte about the disaster response operations conducted by the military forces.
"I briefed him what our troops are doing in Marikina saving people from rooftops," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
