”Vicky” displaces hundreds of families in Caraga: NDRRMC

Hundreds of families were displaced because of the effect of Tropical Depression ''Vicky'' in the Caraga region.
"We have received preliminary information from Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council that 900 families had been evacuated in the region," Mark Timbal, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Deputy spokesman said Saturday morning.
Timbal added that as of Saturday morning no casualties were reported.
"None so far. No reported fatalities from the regions," he said.
Timbal said there were nine floods reported in the province of Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur while one landslide was also monitored in San Rafael, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
As of 4 am, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) monitored a total of 1,382 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers; 59 vessels; nine motorbancas; and 524 rolling cargoes that were stranded in Southern Visayas, Central Visayas , Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, North Eastern Mindanao, and Northern Mindanao because of ''Vicky''.
The PCG also recorded a total of 25 vessels and 15 motorbancas that are taking shelter as a precaution. Robina Asido/DMS
