Villar leads official count, Aquino calls out of Magic 12

Of the 52 certificates of canvass, re-electionist Senator Cynthia Villar remained on top but Senator Bam Aquino III fell out of the top 12 as the Commission on Elections ( Comelec) resumed its canvassing Wednesday.
Villar led with 7, 194,982 votes as administration senatorial bets dominated the official count for the 2019 elections by taking 11 spots out of the 12 contested.
Aquino, who belongs to the opposition Ocho Diretso, came in 13th place with 3,946,443.
The certificates of canvass came from Antique, Catanduanes, Batanes, Cebu City, Spain, Sultan Kudarat, Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Sur, Caloocan City, Romblon, New Zealand, Italy, South Cotabato, Davao del Norte, Masbate, Nueva Ecija, Zamboanga Sibugay and Marikina City.
Another re-electionist Senator and independent candidate, Grace Poe, was still in second with 6,341,270 votes followed by former Special Presidential Assistant Christopher ''Bong'' Go with 5,954,528, Taguig Rep.
Pia Cayetano with 5, 743,966, and former Philippine National Police chief Ronald Dela Rosa with 5,586,751.
At sixth place was re-electionist Senator Sonny Angara with 5,315,764, seventh was Imee Marcos with 5,071,887, former Senator Lito Lapid with 4,636,705 at eighth place, former presidential political adviser Francis
Tolentino with 4,526,202 at ninth, Senator Koko Pimentel with 4,383,719 in 10th spot, re-electionist Senator Nancy Binay at 11th with 4,242,256, and re-electionist Senator JV Ejercito at 12th with 4,149,105. Ella Dionisio/DMS
