Villar showing the way in official tally

Re-electionist Senator Cynthia Villar remained in the lead as of Wednesday's night's partial and official count of the senatorial race in the 2019 midterm elections.

The National Board of Canvassers ( NBOC) adjourned Wednesday midnight.

The NBOC received 55 certificates of canvass ( COCs), of which 38 came from automated local and overseas votes; 16 from manual overseas votes; and one from local absentee voting.

Automated votes came from Antique, Catanduanes, Batanes, Cebu City, Spain, Sultan Kudarat, Abra, Kalinga, Ilocos Sur, Caloocan City, Romblon, New Zealand, Italy, South Cotabato, Davao del Norte, Masbate, Nueva Ecija, Zamboanga Sibugay, Marikina City, Laguna, Malabon City, Malaysia, Davao City, Aklan, Pasig City, Oman, China, Taiwan, Taguig-Pateros, Lanao del Norte, Australia, Paranaque City, Surigao del Sur, Quirino, Lebanon, Camarines Sur, Saranggani and La Union.

Manual votes came from The Vatican, New Delhi (India), Yangong (Myanmar), The Hague, Prague, Berlin, Indonesia, Hanoi (Vietnam), Cairo (Egypt), Brazil, Dhaka (Bangladesh), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea), Islamabad (Pakistan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Dili (East Timor), and Tel Aviv (Israel).

As of 12 midnight, 89 COCs or 53.29 percent were canvassed by the board. the NBOC is expecting 78 COCs to complete their canvassed for a possible proclamation of winners by May 22 or 23.

Villar got 10,416,332 partial official votes from 73 COCs as they have yet to count manual votes.

Another senatorial aspirant, re-electionist Senator Grace Poe was still in the second spot with 9,151,162 votes followed by former special presidential aide Christopher ''Bong'' Go with 8,549,086, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano with 8,417,229, and former Philippine National Police chief Ronald Dela Rosa with 8,025,527.

In sixth place, were re-electionist Senator Sonny Angara with 7,699,782; Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, seventh, with 7,157,978; former Senator Lito Lapid, eighth, with 6,607,637; former presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino, ninth, with 6,552,739; re-electionist Senator Koko Pimentel, tenth, with 6,220,434; re-electionist Senator JV Ejercito, 11th, with 6,079,028 and re-electionist Senator Nancy Binay with 5,949,885.

In the partial and unofficial count of the Parish-Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting ( PPCRV), Ejercito is at 13th with 14,120,724.

Former Senator Bong Revilla who is at 10th place in the unofficial count, got 5,677,321 in the official tally [lacing him at 14th.

The only opposition candidate close to the Magic 12 in the partial and official count is re-electionist Senator Bam Aquino who so far got 5,722,776 votes.

For the partylist organizations, 101 ACT-CIS is leading with 1,361,983 votes followed by AKO Bicol with 601,211; Bayan Muna with 498,599; Cibac with 356,729; Probinsyano Ako with 298,936; Ang Probinsyano with 296,500; , 1Pacman with 273,606; Senior Citizens with 246,697; Gabriela with 229,244; Coop-Natcco with 218,054 and Philreca with 217,454 votes.
