Water levels in Angat, La Mesa dams continue declining
March 14, 2019
Water levels in Angat and La Mesa dams continue to drop causing more water supply cuts in areas around Metro Manila.
Data from Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed as of 6 am Thursday, La Mesa Dam's water level went below critical level while Angat Dam is below its normal level.
Pagasa recorded a -11.41 meter decrease from La Mesa Dam's 80.15 meter normal high water level. Current readings revealed the dam has 68.74 meters reservoir water level.
Angat Dam also decreased by 12.37 meters from its 212 normal level. The dam's recent water level is at 199.63.
The decrease in La Mesa Dam's water level affected water service provider Manila Water's operations since last week. Water supply in several areas of Metro Manila has been limited. Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
