ACT-CIS, Bayan Muna, Ako Bicol, Cibac, Ang Probinsyano lead partylist race in PPCRV, Comelec, counts

Newcomer ACT-CIS (Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support), Bayan Muna, Ako Bikol, Cibac, and Ang Probinsyano led the race for 59 seats allocated to party-list groups in the House of Representatives., according to unofficial and official counts.

The tally of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), the citizen’s arm of the Commission on Elections, accounted for 97.95 percent of the votes cast in 86,047 out of 787,851 vote counting machines nationwide.

ACT-CIS’s surprise showing, with votes totaling 2,604,523 (9.46 percent) is attributed to the intense campaign led by brother broadcasters Erwin and Raffy Tulfo, whose sister Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo Teo resigned in May last year from the Cabinet following allegations of corruption.

At second is the leftwing Bayan Muna (1,107,396 / 4.02 percent), regional partylist group Ako Bicol (1,046,073/ 3.8 percent), Cibac (Citizens’ Battle against Corruption) (923,453/ 3.35 percent) of evangelist Eddie Villanueva, and Ang Probinsyano (764,345/ 2.77 percent), a new party list group which appears to have capitalized on the hit television series, Ang Probinsyano.

The other partylist groups which have a chance of getting at least one seat are:

Marino: 674,125/ 2.45 percent
Probinsyano Ako: 626,899/ 2.28 percent
Senior Citizens: 507,600/ 1.84 percent
Magsasaka: 490,615/ 1.78 percent
APEC: 478,494/ 1.74 percent
Gabriela: 444,509/ 1.61 percent
An Waray: 440,128/ 1.6 percent
Coop-Natcco: 413,379/ 1.5 percent

Only partylist groups getting 2 percent of the total party-list votes earn at least one seat and a maximum of 3 seats.

Mirroring the unofficial count, the official Comelec canvass, as of Friday 7:30 pm, shows ACT-CIS topping the partylist race, followed by Bayan Muna, Ako Bicol, Cibac, Ang Probinsyano, 1 Pacman, Probinsyano Ako, Marino, Senior Citizens, Magsasaka, APEC, an Waray, and Gabriela.
The Comelec canvass is based on 146 out of 167 certificates of canvass or 87.43 percent of the total number of COCs.
